A majestic Royal Air Force station Nickel plated ‘scramble’ bell, in service at the start of World War II, mounted on a custom oak tuned base ,retaining its original clanger. The casing marked with engraved AM (Air Ministry) crest and crown above, and dated 1940. A highly polished bell was generally found in a prominent position this one from outside RAF Warmwell Station, The bell was used to ‘scramble’ pilots when a raid was looming. Its unusual to find bells with provenance and you can see some images of the bell in situ after the war.
